Games Workshop Perpetuates the Hype Train: Huge Kill Team Info Drop

Games Workshop Perpetuates the Hype Train: Huge Kill Team Info Drop

Fresh off the heals of the successful launch for the new Age of Sigmar Soul Wars box set, and a ton of goodies to go with it, Games Workshop has added more fuel to the fire in my wallet with their latest announcement about their newly revised Kill Team skirmish game in the Warhammer 40k setting. What makes this 3rd iteration in 3 years different than the last versions? Well for one, it uses 10 sided dice. That’s 4 more sides than the old dice.

Kidding aside, there’s a lot new from the looks of it:

I’m not going to lie, I pre-ordered it when they announced it back in March. I’m a sucker for skirmish games. That said I do have concerns about ongoing support of the game. Games Workshop is coming out with so much new stuff so quickly that as soon as something hits the shelves, it feels like they start sunsetting support for the last thing they launched.

Perhaps they’re still trying to get a hang of their release/support schedule? Maybe they leave support up to the community to decide what sticks and what doesn’t before coming up with support options? Whatever it is they do, I hope they get it right for Kill Team. Shadow War Armageddon also arrived to much hype and fanfare and then DIED IMMEDIATELY upon arrival, when they announced Warhammer 40,000 8th edition.

Here’s hoping this one has a longer tail.
